EcoCAR EV Challenge
The EcoCAR EV Challenge is a four-year collegiate automotive engineering competition, providing an unparalleled, hands-on educational experience that transforms the traditional classroom environment into a hub of automotive innovation
Who Are We
The UC Davis team is excited to be a returning school to the Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition. Though the team is new, it builds upon a long history. UC Davis competed in AVTC competitions between 1992 and 2008. The UC Davis leadership team is composed of three faculty members and six student leaders, both at the graduate and undergraduate level. Their areas of expertise span across a variety of technical and non-technical fields. The UC Davis EcoCAR team is open to any UC Davis students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience that will prepare them for successful careers upon graduation.
What We Do
The UC Davis EcoCAR Team operates as a cross-disciplinary group with distinct subteams, each dedicated to a crucial aspect of the project. The Connected and Autonomous team is actively developing hardware and software for the Cadillac LYRIQ. Meanwhile, the Propulsion, Controls and Modeling subteam focuses on powertrain modeling and code development, the System's Development and Integration subteam handles CAD modeling for component integration, the Equity in Mobility subteam addresses diversity and inclusion, the Communications subteam builds program awareness through various channels, and the Project Management subteam ensures timely deliverables and a functional vehicle by the end of the challenge.
